This program is directed by Elizabeth Rogers (Ashtanga) with support from? Scott Schroeder (Iyengar). This intensive teacher training is primarily Ashtanga based with support from the Iyengar tradition. Individualized Teacher Trainings are limited to 5 practitioners at any given time.?The program is currently full. The next available start date is February 2014. There will be space for two practitioners at this time.?We are interviewing for these spaces at this time.
These trainings are designed to further refine your practice space and to support those who wish to teach or to integrate yoga and/or yoga therapy into their existing work with a framework for doing so.?The Teacher Trainings provide the practitioner the option of registering for RYT 200 or RYT 500 status with Yoga Alliance.? We are currently working with IAYT regarding Yoga Therapy certification as well and some of your hours from Teacher Trainings and Practice Intensives may be transferred into select Yoga Therapy Training Programs.
We teach from the spaces we construct through practice. Therefore, our intensives and teacher trainings are practice based. We will practice together 3 or 4 practice sessions per week interweaving mindfulness practices, technique and methodology, functional anatomy and physiology, therapeutics and philosophy. In addition you will engage in one on one sessions for individual process as well as for further studies including functional anatomy and physiology, adjustments, pranayama, philosophy, somatic psychology and ethics. We will also explore the intersections of classical yoga practice and philosophy with other contemplative practices including Buddhism, contemporary art and movement languages, and contemporary psychoanalysis. Elective hours may be tailored to focus on an aspect or aspects particular to the individual. This format allows for and supports the individual’s process, and it allows for the integration of new material and gradual habitation of new spaces in mind and body.
A minimum of two years of regular practice experience in one or more of the following yoga traditions: Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kripalu, or Integral Yoga.
There is an interview process. Please contact us if you are interested.
